Task 5: Anthropology

Why I am studying this? I was not really sure, but now I think I do.

When I had to take a test after school (PSU) I was not sure about what carrer I will study. The results were very good and I had the possibillity to study among a lot of different carrers in the humanist area. Before apply for Anthropology I thought study sociology, but just on that moment I went to the "candidate´s week" in the University of Chile and I knew my present carrer. I liked it so much cause is very interesting and it can help us to understand ourself way of life or differences between several human groups around the world. In this carrer there are three major in to choose in the third year of it: Physical Anthropology, Social Anthropology and Archaeologist.

I want take the specialty related with the biologycal and cultural variation(Physical Anthropology) among the human poblations , even if they are live or extinct. I think that the contributions from this scince is very important becasue it could give aswers about actual problems which are related with our health status. I would like to take part in the study, analysis, and prevention of the illness that could be present in our country or in smaller poblations than it.

For that kind of study I will need specific knowledge about the human in several aspect, as anatomy, genetic information, physiology, etc.; as the same way, I will use the technicals and tools that belongs to each subject, for example: in genetics study is ussualy use statistical programs to see the variation in the genetic information among any population. It is probably tahat in teh future Physical Anthropology will develop other technical and methods to realize its scientific research.

Although I have a preferential specialty, I like the most part of my subjects; I do not have a favorite maybe because I think that all they are importants and provides to me a valuable and interesting information.

Task 4: A photograph

I love this picture, it remembers me when I was a child and I didn´t have many things to care about. I´m not sure, but I think that probably my mom took this photograph.
Well...here we are me and my old sister, she is two years older than me, and this picture is so funny ´cause she lose her tooth so her smile was incomplete. That day was a celebration of national holidays, it was the occasion for every grade to present a dance, in my case I must present a flok dance of chilean´s south, if I am right I gess that I danced La Trastasera, and my sister presented a lovely dance about colors. In that moment I was in kindergraden and my sister was in second grade of primary. In this moment I can´t rembember the name of school because we were in many diferent schools so I´m confuse.
To see this picture makes me feel a little nostalgic, that times were very happy for me and I would feel very lucky if I could come back in the time, but I suppose that we must grow up and learn new things about life, persons, experiences, etc. however I wonder to myself if I am so happy as before with my actual life or if I need some of that happiness of the past.

Task 3: Knowing the past

I study Anthropolgy, and the last year I did many works in the subject Prehistory. That works were about ancient cultures in America, about their ubication, history, kind of social organization, etc. so, when I didn't know much about they I always go to Chilean Museum of Precolombine Art (MCHAP) website (www.precolombino.cl) because there are many information that I needed, it's clear and have pictures and maps. I knew it while I was looking for information about old cultures in Mesoamerica, specifically Maya' s calendare and astronomical developed. I visit it specially when I must do task, and sometimes for placer. Once I did handicrafts that were indicate in the site, it was a llama and then I gave as a present to a friend. I like it very much 'cause is complete, didactic and tidy.

task 2: my dear cellphone

I have a Nokia 5310 Express music and it is the best cellphone in the world. I like it very much.

I got it thanks to my mom last year, in June, because my old one was not working, so I decided to change it. In the company of mobile telephone there were a lot of items for all that you wanted. I was looking for a cellphone with which I could listen to a lot of music.

I use it every day 'cause I and my family always need comunicate between us, so I can't get out of my house without it; when I travel by bus or subway I usually use my cellphone to listen to music, unfortunately it is very bad to do that, 'cause in the subway there is much noise.

If I didn`t have it, it is possibly that I would bored a lot in many situations, but a could stand it.
